As the 2025 truffle season begins to wind down, we’re taking a moment to reflect – and celebrate – a truly rewarding winter here at Truffle Valley.
This season has marked a huge leap forward in our journey. From just 5% of our trees producing truffles in our first trading year 2024, we are thrilled to report that 62% of our orchard trees yielded truffles this season. After years of careful planning, nurturing, and patience, seeing the fruits – well, fungi – of our labour emerge from the soil has been an incredibly satisfying and exciting milestone for us.
But the success hasn’t just been underground. We’ve had the absolute pleasure of welcoming many of you to join un in the orchard for our truffle hunts. Each hunt brought joy, laughter, and a many truffle treasures unearthed, thanks to our lovable Labrador truffle dogs. With their impressive scent-detection skills and cheeky personalities, they’ve really stolen the show week after week. Not only have they proven themselves to be expert truffle hunters. they’ve also become seasoned photo models, happily posing with guests who came away impressed and charmed in equal measure.
This year also saw the continuation of our wonderful collaborations with Seville Estate and Balgownie Estate, giving visitors the chance to savour our fresh truffles in some truly exceptional degustation experiences. Watching our truffles shine in the hands of talented chefs has been a highlight of the season.
Now as we notice the orchard gently slowing downing preparation for the next truffles’ life cycle, we’re feeling a bittersweet mix of satisfaction and nostalgia. It’s been a season full of discoveries, delicious moments and heartfelt connections, and we’re already looking forward to what lies ahead.
We’re hopeful for an even more bountiful season in 2026 and we can’t wait to share more of the magic with you. Keep an eye out for the opening of bookings for our next truffle season – we’d love to welcome you to experience the rich, earthy beauty of Truffle Valley and the extraordinary sensory adventure that comes with it.
Until then, thank you for being part of our journey. See you next winter !
