What a night! On Saturday 2nd August, we had the absolute pleasure of joining forces with Balgownie Estate for their annual Truffle Dinner — and what a celebration it was.
Held at the beautiful Balgownie Estate in the Yarra Valley, this sold-out event brought truffle lovers together at the peak of the season. Guests were welcomed with a glass of Cuvée and truffled canapés before settling in for a four-course menu that celebrated the rich, earthy aroma of freshly unearthed black winter truffles — harvested just days earlier from our orchard here in Seville.
Head Chef Ben Murphy designed a masterful menu that showcased the versatility of truffles, pairing them with seasonal ingredients and elegant wines for a dining experience to remember. Each course was a tribute to the deep flavour and aroma that make truffles such a delicacy. Adding even more of the ‘wow’ factor, sou chef, Jayden and the team, created a uniquely delectable Black Truffle Sponge cake.
We were thrilled to be invited to share our story and a little insight into the journey of truffle farming — from the quiet patience of nurturing our trees to the excitement of a truffle discovery beneath the soil, using our adorable truffle hunting dogs Tessa and Rita.
It was a joy to connect with guests who are just as passionate about flavour and provenance as we are. Nights like these remind us why we do what we do.
