What an eventful season… Truffle Valley’s first ever year of trading.
We were excited and delighted to embark on our baptism of fire into the commercial side of the Truffle industry this year. After many years of farm development and nurturing our truffle orchard, it was such a milestone for us, as we welcomed customers into our little rustic Truffle Shop, and as we shared the excitement of Truffle Hunting with them. Tessa and Rita (our ardent Truffle Hunting Dogs) also loved showing off their skills as truffle hunters. They certainly made us proud!
The highlight of this season was harvesting our first Bianchetto (white truffle) and some more high quality French Black Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum). We felt great satisfaction in welcoming such appreciative customers and watching their faces light up as they enjoyed the beauty of our farm environment and the joy they felt during their truffle hunting experience.
A special mention must also be made of the wonderful collaboration formed with Seville Estate this season. Together we were able to offer special deals for customers selecting a winter package experience, with options of a truffle hunt at Truffle Valley following by wine tasting, lunch and/or accommodation at Seville Estate.
In particular, we felt quite proud to have James Cornwall (Chef at Seville Estate) and friends, join us for a very successful Truffle Hunt, and then James showcased our freshly harvested truffle in an amazing 5 course luncheon at Seville Estate.
As we witness the force of nature and the closing of this season, we are looking forward to the 2025 Truffle Season and the promise of an increase in productivity, as our truffiere reaches its 7th year since planting.
